Dr. Soneja began her medical journey by obtaining her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in 2002. Building
upon this foundation, she pursued further post-graduate training in Family Medicine at Guthrie Clinic,
Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Soneja then specialized in Obesity Medicine, earning certification from the American
Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). Additionally, she undertook comprehensive training in Diabetes management in
the USA and achieved a Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the UK. Prior to her current endeavors, she
served as a Consultant in Diabetes and Obesity Medicine at University Hospitals, Cleveland, USA.
Clinical Expertise/Interests :
Dr. Soneja possesses extensive experience in managing lifestyle-related conditions such as Obesity and Diabetes
on a global scale. Her particular interests lie in Childhood Obesity and preventive medicine. She advocates for
holistic care, addressing weight management and associated conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure,
cholesterol, thyroid disorders, and PCOS. Dr. Soneja is well-versed in managing complex Diabetes cases,
including those requiring insulin pumps. She oversees comprehensive medical weight management programs and
provides pre- and post-Bariatric Surgery care for optimal patient outcomes.
Academic Experience :
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Soneja is actively engaged in teaching and academic pursuits. She
serves as a Faculty member for Post Graduate Diploma programs in Obesity Medicine and MSc at the University of
South Wales, UK. Dr. Soneja conducts regular Diabetes Self-Management Education sessions for patients,
empowering them to take control of their health. Her passion for research is evident through her tenure as a
Clinical Research Fellow at Birmingham Hospital, UK, where she has contributed to numerous publications in
international journals. Dr. Soneja has also showcased her research findings on Diabetes and Obesity at
prestigious conferences such as the American Diabetes Association and the American Society of Bariatric
Physicians.
